Malmin’s Manchester surgery is the North West outpost of a private network that started in London and now runs clinics from Canary Wharf to Hartlepool. It works privately rather than under an NHS contract, and is built so a case rarely leaves the building: orthodontics, implant surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics and oral surgery are all held in-house, and other dentists send referrals in for implant planning, root canal work and braces.

Treatments and services

General dentistry covers examinations, hygiene and gum health, restorative fillings, root canal therapy, wisdom tooth removal and dental emergencies, with sedation for patients who need it. Orthodontics runs from Invisalign and fixed braces for teenagers and adults through to retainer scanning afterwards. Cosmetic work includes whitening, composite bonding, veneers, crowns and smile makeovers. Surgery and restoration: implants, All-on-4 full-arch cases, bridges, dentures, bone grafting and sinus elevation; periodontal procedures such as gingivectomy and fraenectomy; nightguards and sports guards. The clinicians

Dr Zia Ud-Din is a specialist orthodontist on the General Dental Council’s specialist list, with a declared interest in facial aesthetics. Dr Manuel Betoret Vila is the implant surgeon. Dr Beatriz Casares, who qualified at the Complutense University of Madrid, practises general dentistry with a special interest in endodontics; patient accounts describe her choosing a composite repair over a veneer on a small chip, to keep more of the natural tooth. Dr Chris Brennan and Dr Esra Mohammed complete the dentist line-up, with Gavin Harrington and Rachael Lumley Harvatt as hygienists.
